Hi, I’m Marnie and I have an affinity with the word West. My surname is Weston, the origin of the name is English and it refers to the Western location of England. But my parents were both born in Scotland and I was born here in Auckland. However, I lived the first 10 years of my life in Westmere. I went to Westmere Kindergarten and Westmere Primary School. When I was 12, we moved to West Auckland where I have lived ever since.

I am a cat lover. I have 2 cats, Georgie and Tootsie and they are my pride and joy.

As a very young woman I worked as a Genealogy Librarian, and in accounts and administrative positions. I went on to work in international banking and complete my Commerce degree in Accounting and Commercial Law at the University of Auckland, after which I worked as a volunteer at Waitemata Community Law Centre.

My interests include Genealogy, Astronomy, Aromatherapy and creative writing.

I have always loved to write, I love to play with words. I received certificates at school for creative writing but it was not my main focus. I love writing in my personal journal and gratitude journals. They are very descriptive and I hope to use them as a basis to write my memoir in the future.

Over the last couple of years, I have written children’s stories including my ‘Angel Butterflies’ Trilogy, some fairy tales and poetry which I hope to publish in the future.
