Therese was born in Shanghai, China. She once wrote columns for Shanghai fashion magazines and several mainstream newspapers. Due to political and other sensitive factors, she almost gave up writing. In 2017, she came to New Zealand. Since then, she started a family and settled down in West Auckland, She joined the Waitakere Writers in 2023.  "This group has rekindled the passion for writing that has lingered in my heart for many years.
