Short History of Book ‘I’m Sorry’
Published by Clio Publishing whose Greek name means ‘Musings of an historical nature’ the book ‘I’m Sorry’ was inspired by Max Peers’ monthly articles for four years in a Retirement Village magazine followed by seven years as ‘Max’s Musings’.
The book co-written by Doreen Peers who contributes poetry and Max who researches unusual topics mainly of an historical nature of people and events, most of which have never previously been published. Some children and a few invited people also made a contribution to the book.
Described as ‘A variety of Poetry and Prose for all ages including Fact and Fiction’ the Auckland Cancer Society Volunteer News September 2012 in reviewing the book said: ‘I have loved reading this with tears and laughter and would recommend it highly’.
The Western Leader wrote; ‘It covers everything from war heroes, shipping and the first rose brought to New Zealand’ and quotes Max as saying about a particular suppressed war story “It was the most intriguing war story … and just had to be published”
Another commentator said; ‘It’s a good thing you are doing this because in another 10 years there won’t be anyone around to tell these stories.
